Gilles de Rais

Gilles de Rais (1405–1440) was a French nobleman and former military commander, known for his role in the Hundred Years' War. Later, he became infamous for committing brutal crimes, including the kidnapping, torture, and murder of children. His actions shocked France, leading to his arrest, trial, and execution.
