GIESC (Global Intersex Expert Community)

The Global Intersex Expert Community (GIESC) is a network of professionals—such as researchers, doctors, advocates, and activists—who work together to promote the rights, health, and well-being of intersex people worldwide. Intersex individuals are born with physical sex characteristics that don’t fit typical definitions of male or female. GIESC aims to improve understanding, reduce harmful practices, and support intersex communities by sharing knowledge, developing respectful policies, and advocating for human rights related to intersex lives. It fosters collaboration across disciplines to ensure intersex issues are addressed ethically and inclusively.
