Giant's Causeway

The Giant's Causeway is a natural wonder in Northern Ireland, famous for its thousands of interlocking basalt columns formed by ancient volcanic activity. When magma cooled rapidly upon contact with water, it contracted and cracked into regular, polygonal shapes—mainly hexagons. This unique geological process created the striking landscape now comprising approximately 40,000 columns, some up to 12 meters tall. Legenden tells of a giant named Finn McCool who supposedly built the causeway to walk to Scotland, but scientifically, it's a remarkable example of volcanic activity and natural rock formation.
