Ghurid dynasty
The Ghurid dynasty was a powerful Muslim dynasty that ruled parts of present-day Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, and India from the 12th to 13th centuries. Originating from the Ghor region, they expanded their territory through military campaigns, notably contributing to the decline of the Hindu Khilji and establishing a foundation for the Delhi Sultanate. Their leadership helped promote Persian culture, arts, and Islamic scholarship. The Ghurids played a significant role in shaping medieval South Asian history, acting as a bridge between Central Asian influences and Indian cultures, and laying the groundwork for future Muslim rule in India.
