Ghani's Government
Ghani's Government, led by President Ashraf Ghani (2014–2021), was committed to modernizing Afghanistan’s institutions, improving security, and promoting economic development. Despite efforts to foster stability and reform, the government faced significant challenges from ongoing conflict, corruption, and internal political disagreements. It aimed to strengthen governance, enhance education and infrastructure, and reduce reliance on external aid. However, its tenure was marked by struggles to achieve lasting peace and stability amid widespread violence. Ultimately, the government’s control diminished as the Taliban rapidly advanced in 2021, leading to a swift takeover of the country.
