Gestational hypertension

Gestational hypertension is a condition where a pregnant woman develops high blood pressure after 20 weeks of pregnancy, without any signs of damage to other organs. It is different from preeclampsia, which involves additional symptoms. This condition needs careful monitoring because it can increase risks during pregnancy, such as preterm birth or complications for the mother and baby. Often, it is managed through regular check-ups, blood pressure control, and sometimes medication. With proper care, most women with gestational hypertension have healthy pregnancies and deliveries.
