Gerstmann syndrome
Gerstmann syndrome is a neurological condition caused by damage to a specific part of the brain's parietal lobe. It results in a group of symptoms including difficulty distinguishing left from right, trouble with writing (acalculia), problems with math, and confusion with language, like recognizing words or writing. People with this syndrome may also have trouble with spatial awareness and identifying objects by touch. It often occurs after a stroke or injury. The symptoms reflect disruption in brain areas responsible for integrating sensory information and language, affecting a person's ability to perform certain cognitive tasks.
