Germinal center B-cell

A germinal center B-cell is a specialized immune cell that forms in lymph nodes during an immune response. Its role is to improve the body's ability to recognize and fight specific illnesses. Inside these centers, B-cells rapidly multiply and undergo a process called affinity maturation, where they modify their antibodies to bind more tightly to invaders like bacteria or viruses. They also undergo class switching, changing the type of antibody they produce to better suit the immune response. This process results in highly effective, specific antibodies that help protect the body against infections.
