Georgia General Assembly
The Georgia General Assembly is the state's legislative body responsible for making laws in Georgia. It consists of two chambers: the Senate and the House of Representatives. Senators and Representatives debate, amend, and vote on proposed laws (bills) that affect the state’s policies, budget, and governance. The Assembly also has the authority to approve appointments, create budgets, and oversee state programs. Members are elected by Georgia residents and serve fixed terms. The General Assembly meets annually to discuss and pass legislation, shaping the laws that govern daily life across the state.
