George E. Ohr
George E. Ohr was an innovative American potter from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, often called the "Mad Potter of Biloxi." He was known for his experimental approach to ceramics, creating highly unique, often irregular and abstract pottery with unconventional shapes and vivid glazes. Ohr pushed artistic boundaries, blending functional craftsmanship with avant-garde art. His work was ahead of its time and influenced modern ceramics. Although his pottery was not widely appreciated during his lifetime, today he is celebrated as a pioneering artist who transformed ceramic art into a true form of creative expression.
