George, Duke of Clarence
George, Duke of Clarence, was a nobleman and a younger brother of King Edward IV of England during the 15th century. He played a significant role in the Wars of the Roses, a conflict between rival royal factions. Known for his loyalty to his family, George was initially an ally of his brother but later fell out of favor due to political intrigue. He was accused of treason and sentenced to death in 1478. Historically, he is often remembered for his mysterious death, traditionally believed to have been caused by drowning in a well—though the true circumstances remain uncertain.
