George C. Marshall (Army General)

George C. Marshall (1880-1959) was a prominent American Army General and statesman best known for his leadership during World War II. As the U.S. Army Chief of Staff, he organized the military effort that led to the defeat of Nazi Germany. After the war, he served as Secretary of State and proposed the Marshall Plan, which helped rebuild Europe by providing economic aid to war-torn countries.
