Geochemist (field of study)

A geochemist studies the chemical composition and processes of Earth's materials—such as rocks, minerals, water, and soil—to understand their origins, transformations, and interactions over time. They analyze how elements and compounds move through the Earth's crust, contribute to geological phenomena, and influence the planet’s development. Geochemists often work to uncover Earth's history, locate natural resources, and assess environmental changes by applying chemical techniques and scientific principles.
