Genomic library
A genomic library is a collection of DNA copies that represent an organism's entire genetic material. Scientists create it by extracting DNA, cutting it into small pieces, and inserting those pieces into host cells—usually bacteria—that can reproduce. This allows researchers to study, analyze, or manipulate specific genes of interest without needing to handle the entire genome at once. Genomic libraries are essential tools in genetics research, helping to understand gene functions, develop medical treatments, or create genetically modified organisms.
