Genital Warts

Genital warts are small, flesh-colored or gray growths that appear in the genital or anal areas, caused by certain strains of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). They can be transmitted through intimate skin-to-skin contact, often during sexual activity. While they are not usually harmful, they can be uncomfortable and may indicate a higher risk of other HPV-related health issues. Treatment options are available to remove warts and reduce symptoms, but there’s no cure for HPV itself. Vaccines exist to help prevent the most common types of HPV responsible for genital warts and certain cancers.
