General Zhang Xianzhong

General Zhang Xianzhong was a Chinese military leader and rebel who rose to prominence in the 17th century during China’s late Ming Dynasty. He is known for leading an uprising and establishing a short-lived regime in Sichuan Province, characterized by violent rule and extensive destruction. His movement contributed to the chaos that ultimately led to the rise of the Qing Dynasty. Despite his brutal reputation, Zhang played a significant role in the turbulent transition period between the Ming and Qing eras.
