General Richard Montgomery

Major-General Richard Montgomery was an Irish-born officer who played a significant role in the American Revolutionary War. He previously served in the British Army but joined the American cause seeking independence from Britain. Montgomery is best known for leading American forces in the early battles of the revolution, including the unsuccessful attack on Quebec in 1775. He was brave and committed, but tragically was killed during the Battle of Quebec.
