General Power of Attorney

A General Power of Attorney (GPA) is a legal document that allows you (the principal) to appoint someone else (the agent or attorney-in-fact) to handle a broad range of your financial and legal affairs on your behalf. This can include managing bank accounts, paying bills, signing documents, or making investments. It’s typically used when you are unavailable, incapacitated, or want someone to act on your behalf for specific tasks. The GPA remains in effect until you revoke it, change it, or it expires, depending on its terms.
