General Kim Il-sung

Kim Il-sung was the founding leader of North Korea, serving from 1948 until his death in 1994. He established a centralized, authoritarian government based on a mix of communist ideology and Korean nationalism, creating a strong, personality-centered regime. Kim developed a cult of personality around himself and prioritized military strength and self-reliance, known as Juche. His leadership shaped North Korea’s political system, economy, and society, influencing generations. Kim Il-sung remains a revered figure in North Korea, officially called the "Eternal President," and his legacy continues to influence the country's policies and identity.
