General Edward P. King Jr. was a Filipino-American military leader during World War II. He served as the commander of U.S. and Filipino forces in the Philippines and is best known for surrendering the American and Filipino troops to Japanese forces in 1942 after the fall of Bataan. This event, known as the Bataan Fall, led to the infamous Bataan Death March, where thousands suffered and died while being forced to march by the Japanese.
