General Bipin Rawat

General Bipin Rawat was a senior Indian Army officer who served as the Chief of Army Staff from December 2016 to December 2019, and later became the first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of India in January 2020. He played a crucial role in modernizing the Indian military and enhancing joint operations among the army, navy, and air force. Known for his strategic insights, he was involved in key national security policies. Tragically, General Rawat died in a helicopter crash in December 2021, leaving behind a legacy of service and leadership in India’s defense establishment.
