Geminid meteor shower

The Geminid meteor shower is a natural display where numerous streaks of light, called meteors or shooting stars, appear in the night sky. It occurs every December as Earth passes through a trail of debris left by the asteroid 3200 Phaethon. When these tiny particles collide with our atmosphere, they burn up, creating bright trails. The Geminids are known for their intensity and number, often producing up to 120 meteors per hour at their peak. Observing them offers a spectacular glimpse into space debris and the dynamic interactions between Earth and objects traveling through our solar system.
