Gelada baboon

The Gelada baboon is a unique primate native to Ethiopia, often called the "bleeding-heart" baboon due to the distinctive red patch of skin on their chest. Unlike other monkeys, they primarily feed on grass and are known for their complex social groups that can include hundreds of individuals. They are highly adapted to mountain habitats, where they spend most of their time foraging on the ground and resting on cliffs.
