GEBCO

GEBCO, the General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans, is an international project that maps the depths and shapes of the ocean floor. It combines data from ships, satellites, and underwater surveys to create detailed, accurate representations of underwater topography. This information helps scientists understand ocean geology, support maritime navigation, and study oceanic processes. Essentially, GEBCO provides a comprehensive, up-to-date map of the ocean’s depths, much like a terrestrial topographic map, but for the seafloor.
