Gay conversion therapy
Gay conversion therapy refers to various practices that aim to change an individual's sexual orientation from gay, lesbian, or bisexual to heterosexual. These methods, often involving psychological counseling, behavioral techniques, or religious interventions, lack scientific backing and have been widely discredited by medical and mental health organizations due to their ineffectiveness and potential for harm. Numerous studies show that sexual orientation is an inherent aspect of a person and cannot be changed through therapy. Many regions have also enacted laws banning or restricting conversion therapy because of its unethical nature and associated risks.
