Gaseous State

The gaseous state, or gas, is one of the fundamental forms of matter, characterized by molecules that are widely spaced and move freely at high speeds. Unlike solids or liquids, gases have no fixed shape or volume, meaning they expand to fill their container completely. The particles in a gas are in constant, random motion, colliding and exerting pressure. Gases are compressible, so their volume can change easily with pressure and temperature variations. This state is common in nature and everyday life, seen in air, steam, and other vapors.
