gas-solid adsorption
Gas-solid adsorption is a process where gas molecules stick to the surface of a solid material. Imagine tiny particles of gas, like air, coming into contact with a solid surface and attaching to it temporarily. This happens because of attractive forces between the gas molecules and the solid. Adsorption is used in many applications, such as filtering pollutants, capturing gases in chemical processes, or purifying air and water. It is different from absorption, where substances are soaked throughout a material; instead, adsorption involves molecules “clinging” to the surface.
