Gas Kiln
A gas kiln is a type of oven used primarily in ceramics to fire pottery and sculptures. It uses natural gas or propane as fuel to generate heat, which is controlled through burners and airflow. The high temperatures, often reaching over 2000°F (1100°C), cause the clay and glazes to harden and develop finished colors and textures. Gas kilns allow for precise temperature control and can produce a variety of finishes by manipulating flame and atmosphere inside the kiln. They are popular among ceramic artists for their efficiency and ability to achieve specific aesthetic effects.
