Ganges-Brahmaputra Delta
The Ganges-Brahmaputra Delta, also known as the Sundarbans, is a vast, fertile area in South Asia formed by the combined sediment deposits of the Ganges and Brahmaputra rivers as they flow into the Bay of Bengal. This delta is one of the world's largest and most dynamic wetlands, home to diverse wildlife, including Bengal tigers and numerous bird species. Its rich soils support extensive agriculture, but the region is also vulnerable to flooding, cyclones, and rising sea levels, which impact communities and ecosystems alike.
