Galla Placidcia
Galla Placidia was a prominent Roman empress and regent in the early 5th century, known for her influence in the Western Roman Empire. She was the daughter of Emperor Theodosius I, and after her father's death, she played a key role in imperial politics. Galla Placidia is also famous for commissioning important Christian art and architecture, including mosaics in Ravenna, which showcase early Christian imagery and craftsmanship. Her reign and artistic patronage helped shape the cultural and religious landscape of the late Roman Empire during a period of transition from classical antiquity to the early medieval era.
