Galileo's Experiments
Galileo’s experiments challenged the idea that heavier objects fall faster than lighter ones. He dropped balls of different weights from the Leaning Tower of Pisa and found they hit the ground simultaneously, demonstrating that gravity accelerates all objects equally regardless of mass. This was significant because it disputed Aristotle’s long-held beliefs. Galileo also rolled balls down inclined planes to study acceleration, which helped formulate the concept that objects in free fall experience constant acceleration. His experiments laid the groundwork for modern physics by showing that the laws of motion are consistent and predictable.
