Galileo Galilei (Spacecraft)
Galileo Galilei is a spacecraft launched by NASA in 1989 to explore Jupiter and its moons. Named after the famous scientist, it orbited Jupiter for several years, studying its atmosphere, magnetic field, and icy moons such as Europa. The spacecraft provided detailed images and valuable data, helping scientists understand the planet's environment and the potential for life on its moons. After completing its mission in 2003, Galileo was intentionally sent into Jupiter's atmosphere to prevent contamination of any potential habitats on its moons. It greatly advanced our knowledge of the giant planet and its system.
