Galgano Guidotti

Galgano Guidotti was an Italian knight from the 12th century who became a hermit and spiritual seeker. He is famous for placing a sword into a stone, which many consider a symbol of faith and divine calling. Later, he withdrew from worldly life to live as a hermit near a small chapel in Siena, Italy. His devotion and mystical experiences led to the site becoming a place of pilgrimage. Although he was not officially canonized as a saint, Galgano's life inspired religious devotion, and his tomb and the nearby chapel are still visited today.
