Galactorrhea

Galactorrhea is a condition where a person who isn't breastfeeding produces breast milk. It occurs when the glands responsible for milk production are stimulated to produce milk unnecessarily, often due to hormonal imbalances—particularly excess prolactin, the hormone that prompts milk production. Causes can include medications, tumors affecting hormone levels, or other health issues. While it's often benign, galactorrhea can indicate underlying medical problems that may need assessment and treatment. If experienced, it's advisable to consult a healthcare provider to determine the cause and appropriate management.
