Galactic rotation

Galactic rotation refers to how stars and other matter orbit the center of a galaxy, like our Milky Way. Instead of stars near the center moving faster and those farther out moving slower, observations show they all orbit at roughly the same speed. This suggests there is more unseen mass, called dark matter, providing additional gravitational pull.
