Gain Adaptive Response in Injury (GARI)

Gain Adaptive Response in Injury (GARI) is the body's natural process of adjusting how it responds to tissue damage. When an injury occurs, the nervous system modulates signal strength to help manage pain and facilitate healing. In GARI, this response adapts over time, reducing heightened sensitivity or hyper-responsiveness, which can otherwise prolong discomfort or lead to chronic pain. Essentially, GARI helps balance nerve activity, promoting recovery by tuning the body's reactions appropriately as healing progresses.
