Gaff

A gaff is a tool used in fishing tohandle and secure a caught fish. It typically consists of a long pole with a pointed, hook-shaped metal end. When a fish is caught, fishermen use the gaff to easily lift the fish out of the water or boat, especially large or heavy ones that are difficult to lift by hand. The gaff helps ensure the fish is safely brought on board without slipping or causing injury. It’s also used in other contexts like theatrical settings or stunts to manipulate or prop objects, but predominantly, it refers to that fishing implement.
