G8 Summit
The G8 Summit was an annual meeting where leaders from eight of the world's largest advanced economies—Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States—gathered to discuss global issues. They addressed topics like economic stability, security, climate change, and international development. The summit provided a platform for these nations to coordinate policies, share ideas, and collaborate on addressing international challenges. Although it was influential in shaping global discussion, the G8 was also criticized for excluding emerging economies. In 2014, Russia's suspension led to the group's transition toward the G20, involving a broader range of nations.
