G8 (Group of Eight)

The G8, or Group of Eight, was an organization of eight major advanced economies: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It facilitated annual meetings among leaders to discuss global economic issues, security, and other important topics. The G8 aimed to promote cooperation and address challenges like economic stability and international conflicts. In 2014, Russia's suspension led to the group's transition to the G7, which now includes just the remaining seven nations. The G8 played a significant role in fostering international dialogue among some of the world's largest economies.
