G5 Sahel
G5 Sahel is a regional partnership involving five West African countries—Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, and Niger—created to improve security, stability, and development in the Sahel region. Established in 2014, it focuses on combating terrorism, supporting military efforts, enhancing border security, and promoting economic progress. The group collaborates with international partners like France and the UN to address shared challenges like insurgency, organized crime, and poverty, aiming to foster peace and resilience across the often fragile Sahel countries.
