G1c

G1c, or Grade 1c, is a classification used in dentistry to describe the severity of dental caries (tooth decay) on the crown of a tooth. It indicates an initial stage where the decay has created a visible cavity or hole that extends into the outer layer of the tooth (enamel) but has not yet reached the deeper layers like dentin. At this stage, the decay is often treatable with restorative procedures such as fillings, and the tooth structure is still mostly intact. G1c helps dentists determine the appropriate treatment plan based on decay severity.
