FXa

FXa, or activated factor X, is an important protein in the blood clotting process. When you get a cut, your body activates a series of steps called the clotting cascade to form a clot and stop bleeding. FXa plays a key role by converting a molecule called prothrombin into thrombin, which then turns fibrinogen into fibrin to stabilize the clot. Because of its central role, FXa is a target for blood-thinning medications, which help prevent excessive clotting that can lead to strokes or deep vein thrombosis.
