Fuzzy relational models

Fuzzy relational models are tools used to represent and analyze complex relationships between different sets of information that are not strictly yes-or-no. Unlike traditional models with clear boundaries, they allow for degrees of connection—such as how strongly one thing relates to another—using values between 0 and 1. This approach captures real-world uncertainty and variability, enabling more flexible decision-making and reasoning. For example, in evaluating customer preferences or medical symptoms, fuzzy relational models can account for partial matches and degrees of association, making them useful in systems where information isn't strictly binary or black-and-white.
