Fuzzification

Fuzzification is the process of transforming precise input data into a form that captures uncertainty or imprecise information, known as fuzzy values. Instead of assigning a single exact number, it assigns degrees of membership to various categories or concepts. For example, instead of just “hot” or “cold,” fuzzification might express that a temperature is 70% "hot" and 30% "warm." This process enables systems, such as fuzzy logic controllers, to handle ambiguity and make more flexible, human-like decisions based on imprecise or vague inputs.
