Future Combat Systems

Future Combat Systems (FCS) was a U.S. Department of Defense initiative aimed at developing advanced, integrated military technology for future warfare. It focused on creating networked, automated vehicles, drones, and sophisticated communication systems to improve battlefield coordination, reduce crew risks, and increase operational effectiveness. The goal was to develop a more flexible, efficient, and technologically advanced force. However, the program was canceled in 2009 due to technical challenges and high costs, leading to a shift toward more targeted modernization efforts.
