Fusion power generation harnesses the energy produced when atomic nuclei combine, or fuse, together. This process occurs naturally in the sun, where hydrogen atoms fuse to form helium, releasing vast amounts of energy. In fusion reactors, scientists aim to replicate this process using isotopes of hydrogen, like deuterium and tritium. The challenge lies in achieving the extreme temperatures and pressures necessary for fusion to occur.
