Funnel Beaker Culture

The Funnel Beaker Culture, existing around 4300 to 3300 BCE in Northern Europe, was a prehistoric hunter-gatherer and early farming community known for their distinctive beaker-shaped pottery. They built megalithic monuments, such as tombs and stone alignments, indicating complex social and ritual practices. They practiced early agriculture, raised domesticated animals, and engaged in trading. Their name comes from their characteristic funnel-shaped ceramic vessels. This culture marked an important transition from purely hunting and gathering to settled farming, influencing later European societies.
