Fungicide Resistance

Fungicide resistance occurs when fungi evolve over time, making them less affected by the chemicals used to control them, called fungicides. When fungicides are applied repeatedly, some fungi may naturally have or develop genetic changes that allow them to survive these treatments. Over time, these resistant fungi become more common, making fungicides less effective. This means farmers and growers need to use different strategies, such as rotating fungicides or combining methods, to effectively manage fungal diseases and prevent resistance from spreading.
