Fungal cultivation
Fungal cultivation involves growing fungi, such as mushrooms or medicinal species, under controlled conditions to maximize growth and quality. This process includes preparing a suitable substrate—like straw, wood, or grain—ensuring proper sterilization to eliminate contaminants, and maintaining optimal temperature, humidity, and ventilation. Inoculation introduces the fungal spawn to the substrate, where it colonizes and develops. With proper care, the fungi mature and can later be harvested for food, medicine, or research. This method allows for efficient, scalable production of fungi in both small and large-scale operations.
