
Fundamental Forces in Atom
In atoms, fundamental forces govern interactions between particles. The electromagnetic force causes electrons to be attracted to the positively charged nucleus, keeping them in orbit. The strong nuclear force binds protons and neutrons together in the nucleus, overcoming their electrical repulsion. The weak nuclear force is responsible for certain types of particle decay. Gravitation, though incredibly weak at the atomic level, also plays a role but is negligible compared to the other forces.
